OnCall Companion

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 29 August 2026

OnCall Companion is an independent mobile client published by Leonid Yulenets. It connects to an OnCall server selected by the user and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or published by Grafana Labs.

Information processed by the app

When you connect an OnCall stack, the app processes the server URL, mobile authentication token, user profile, alert groups, schedules, teams, integrations, notification rules, and settings needed to provide its features. Alert notifications may contain alert text, status, and identifiers.

The server URL and mobile token are stored using Android secure storage. Theme and notification preferences and up to 100 recent notification-history entries are stored locally on the device. The app does not include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.

Connected OnCall servers

Operational data is exchanged directly with the OnCall server you choose. That server is operated by you or your organization, and its operator controls access, retention, and deletion of server-side data. Contact that operator for requests concerning operational data or your OnCall user account.

Push notifications

The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging to receive push notifications. Firebase processes an installation identifier, application version, device and Firebase user-agent metadata, and notification-delivery information. The FCM registration token is sent to the connected OnCall server so it can address notifications to this installation. Google processes Firebase data under its applicable Firebase and Google privacy terms.

Reviewer demo

The optional demo creates an isolated temporary session containing synthetic data. The demo service records security and operational request logs, applies rate limits, and expires inactive sessions after 30 days. It is not intended for personal or production information.

Camera and notifications

Camera permission is used only to scan an OnCall login QR code. Camera images are processed for barcode recognition and are not uploaded by OnCall Companion. Notification permission is used to present alert and upcoming-shift notifications. Manual URL and token login remains available if camera permission is declined.

Sharing and sale

We do not sell personal data. Data is disclosed only to service providers needed to operate push and demo infrastructure, to the OnCall server selected by the user, or when required by law. No data is used for advertising.

Retention and deletion

Use Settings to disconnect the current stack, revoke the mobile session, and unregister the device token. Notification History can be cleared in the app. Uninstalling the app removes its local application data according to Android behavior. Server-side retention is controlled by the connected stack operator. Demo sessions expire after 30 days of inactivity.

Security

The app uses Android secure storage for the active token and supports HTTPS server connections. Users should connect only to servers they trust and should prefer HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Children

OnCall Companion is intended for adult professional incident responders and is not designed for children.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when application behavior or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when revisions are published.
